The official iOS 27 wallpaper for iPhone

With every major software release, Apple introduces a brand-new signature wallpaper — and the iOS 27 wallpaper is among the most beautiful the company has ever shipped. Built around flowing, light-filled color and the soft, glass-like depth that defines the iOS 27 design language, it's the kind of image that makes your Lock Screen and Home Screen feel instantly fresh. Whether you're already running the iOS 27 beta or simply want the look on your current iPhone, this page gives you the official wallpaper in full quality, ready to download in seconds.

The best part: you don't have to settle for a one-size-fits-all file. Choose your iPhone model above and the iOS 27 wallpaper is resized to your screen's exact native resolution, so it looks razor-sharp with no stretching, cropping, or blur. Everything happens right in your browser, there's no sign-up, and it's completely free.

How to download the iOS 27 wallpaper

Downloading takes just two taps:

  1. Select your iPhone model from the menu. This tells us the precise resolution your display uses — for example, an iPhone 16 Pro Max gets a crisp 1320 × 2868 image, while an iPhone SE gets a perfectly fitted 750 × 1334 version.
  2. Tap "Download Wallpaper." On a computer the file saves straight to your downloads folder. On an iPhone, the wallpaper opens full-screen — press and hold it, then tap Save to Photos (more on that below).

If you'd like to put your own spin on it first, open the optional Customize panel before downloading. There you can brighten or darken the image, adjust contrast and color, or apply one of six looks (Original, Vivid, Noir, Warm, Cool, and Darker). You can also add a subtle darkening layer so your Lock Screen clock stays perfectly readable over the wallpaper.

How to set the iOS 27 wallpaper as your Lock Screen

Once the image is saved to your Photos, setting it as your Lock Screen wallpaper takes less than a minute:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Scroll down and tap Wallpaper.
  3. Tap Add New Wallpaper.
  4. Choose Photos at the top, then select the iOS 27 wallpaper you just saved.
  5. Use two fingers to pinch and reposition the image if you want, then tap Add in the top-right corner.
  6. When prompted, choose Set as Wallpaper Pair to apply it to both screens, or Customize Home Screen to set them separately.

That's it — your new iOS 27 wallpaper is live on your Lock Screen.

How to set it as your Home Screen wallpaper

Want the wallpaper behind your app icons too? You can control the Home Screen independently:

  1. Go to Settings → Wallpaper.
  2. Under your current wallpaper, tap Customize beneath the Home Screen preview.
  3. Choose Photo and select the iOS 27 wallpaper, or pick a Blur option if you'd prefer a softer backdrop behind your icons.
  4. Tap Done to save.

Use different wallpapers for Lock and Home Screen

iOS lets you mix and match. When you set a new wallpaper, choose Customize Home Screen instead of Set as Wallpaper Pair, and you can keep the bold iOS 27 wallpaper on your Lock Screen while using a blurred or solid-color version behind your apps. This keeps your Home Screen clean and your icons easy to read, while your Lock Screen shows off the full design.

Tips for the best-looking wallpaper

  • Choose the exact model. Selecting the right resolution avoids any upscaling, keeping every detail crisp.
  • Turn off Perspective Zoom if your wallpaper looks slightly cropped. When setting it, tap the screen and toggle Perspective Zoom off so the full image stays in place.
  • Use the "Darken for clock" slider in Customize if your clock or notifications are hard to read — a gentle darkening at the top and bottom fixes that without changing the rest of the image.
  • Disable Depth Effect on the Lock Screen if the time gets hidden behind the wallpaper. Tap the wallpaper, then the menu in the bottom-right, and turn Depth Effect off.

Troubleshooting

The wallpaper looks blurry. You likely selected a smaller resolution than your screen. Pick your exact iPhone model above and download again.

It gets cropped or zoomed. iPhone applies a slight zoom by default. When setting the wallpaper, pinch to zoom out, or turn off Perspective Zoom as described above.

I can't save it on iPhone. Make sure you press and hold the full-screen image until the Save to Photos option appears. If you're using a content blocker, try Safari without it.

About the iOS 27 design

iOS 27 continues Apple's move toward a brighter, more dimensional interface, and its wallpaper is a perfect showcase for that direction — luminous gradients, soft translucency, and a sense of depth that reacts beautifully to your Lock Screen clock and widgets.
