How to install an IPSW on the iPhone 18 Pro Max

  1. Back up first. Restoring an IPSW erases the iPhone. Make an encrypted, archived backup in Finder (Mac) or the Apple Devices app (Windows).
  2. Download the right file from the table above — it must match the iPhone 18 Pro Max and be marked Signed, or Apple will refuse it.
  3. Connect the iPhone with a cable, open Finder or Apple Devices, and select it in the sidebar.
  4. Option-click (Mac) or Shift-click (Windows) Check for Update to install over your data, or Restore iPhone for a clean install — then pick the .ipsw file.
  5. Wait for both restarts and keep the cable connected. If the iPhone won't respond, put it in recovery mode and restore again.
